My older son has been coming here for a little over 18 months and I have seen him grow more and more confident. He has competed in 3 tournaments already and placed every time.

What I love is the attention the instructor gives to every single kid, and the passion Mr. Grilli has with Kenpo resonates. He has a knack with explaining the art of kenpo no matter the age group- he doesn't just teach how to attack and defend...... but what they're defending against and WHY. It's one thing to see the techniques and forms executed beautifully (these kids look badass), it's another thing to learn the meaning behind every attack/move. It makes it all much more thoughtful and technical.

My younger son has just started Little Dragons and he is loving it!!! When he works on his forms, he just exudes confidence. And he has a lot of fun doing it!

Their favorite part is actually sparring. YES, they actually make contact, box, kick, put each other on submission, apply their techniques on their peers and not just hit the air. But the fights are disciplined and they learn to respect each other's skill sets.

We cannot recommend this school highly enough!!!

Mr. Grilli instructs for the pure love of the art. Kenpo 5.0 is one of a very few systems that is willing to evolve to remain practical, effective and relevant to today's environment. When I am able to continue training JSK Riverside is my only pick!

Both my boys have been in karate here for 2+ years now and I have been in the kickboxing class since 2017. At first it was a struggle getting into a new workout routine but I kept coming back because I loved the class, the instructor and the people. In 10/2018, I decided to change my eating ways along with increasing my workouts and have lost 40 pounds and have muscles I have never seen before!!!! Everyday is different, no workout is the same. In addition to punching and kicking the bag you also get weight training, cardio, and so much more. Every time feels like a full body workout. The instructor is the best, well trained and helps you meet and exceed your goals. The class is fun and inspiring and has a family vibe you won’t find anywhere else. Everyone supports and cheers each other on and if you put in the work you will get the results. Don’t be afraid to try them out today. You will not be disappointed!!!

I love this place. The instructors are amazing!. I love how Mr. Grilli is strict with the kids and at the same time encourages them and praises them when they are doing good. He doesn't sugar coat things. He is teaching them how life really is. Not only are they learning karate and how to defend themselves but he is also teaching them discipline, respect, how to focus and many more great attributes that will help them throughout life. My daughters love it here and I can already see changes in them in the 4 months we have been here. So happy I found this place and totally recommend it to anybody looking.

This martial arts studio is run by enthusiastic people who LOVE what they do! The best part is there is something to do for all family members! Cardio...check! Kids classes...check! Adult classes...check! They have something for everyone. And if you want to get away for some alone time with your significant other without the kids , check out their Parents Night Out events! Every event has a different theme! How AWESOME is that!?!

In this world today we need to be more vigilant of our surroundings from those who have no regard for others. We can only teach our children so much in the way of defending themselves. after trying different studies and parks and recreational I finally found Jeff Spoakman's Kempo. I like Mr. Grillis approach to teaching life skills... because kids learn more than how to defend themselves. I highly recommend it!

We searched many schools and chose Mr Grili. He is an amazing instructor. He introduced my daughter to martial arts and started training her at 4 yrs old. We did not realize the positive impact Mr Grili would have in her life. The morals character integrity and respect are only a few of the many things he reinforced in her life. The discipline was amazing and he really Loves his students. He trains his students to not only be the best in martial arts but to be the best person they can be. Unfortunately we had to move out of the area a year ago. I still tell people what an amazing instructor and person he is and how his school is like one big family. If you are looking for a well rounded martial arts school for your child teen or yourself, you need to try his school. You won't regret it and it doesn't matter how many other schools you try (we did the same) I am confident you will end up with Mr Grili.

Do I need to be in shape before I start Kickboxing?

Short answer; absolutely not! We have members of all health and fitness levels, and our classes are designed to fit around each one of these levels.

The only thing we ask is that you bring your best attitude when you come to one of our classes. If you have the mental framework determined to become physically healthy, that is all we want to see. Our trainers will help you get into the best shape of your life!

Can I lose weight with the Fitness Kickboxing program?

Of course. Although, we must say you get what you put in. If you follow a consistent workout pattern, you are bound to see the results you want. On average, kickboxers burn an average of 820 calories per hour.

Do I need any kickboxing experience?

No, we love teaching new members. There is no better way to gain respect from our community than someone who has the will to join our class without any experience. If you can take that first step, you have already proven to our group that you are a strong-minded individual. We will teach you everything you need to know.

Does the physical training include weights or machines?

Most of the training comes from the natural, isotonic, aerobic, anaerobic, and isometric exercises, although, some weight training may be recommended or used. These exercises help our members with losing weight and toning the whole body; our focus is for you to develop speed, flexibility, and force.

What should I wear or bring?

Sweats and a T-shirt, or yoga attire, work best. You’ll also want to bring a towel and a bottle of water. And of course bring the mental attitude that you’re going to kill this workout!

How often should I attend classes?

We understand how busy your life can be; we would love to see you at least once a week. We believe once a week will be a good start for you to build your overall endurance and capability to implement the basic kickboxing moves.

Once you have built the basic foundation of the Kickboxing moves, we encourage you to then increase the amount of frequency and intensity of your workouts. We want you to go at your own pace, but make sure to challenge yourself to see the best results.
